tomorrow, from 11-4pm, i'm going to be a part of Craft Vic's Craft Hatch at the State Library! wanna come?
i'll be bringing pieces from the current range as well as some extra things - samples & some older stock at extra special prices!
& lucky me! i'll be sharing a stall with Emma!! so keep an eye out for her multi coloured leather things & i'll be the one next to her:)

i spied these two new additions to my local train station's decor...how polite are they?
i like how the first one chose to 'CCD' the only bit of the timetable that didn't have info behind it (and then a little blue tag in another nude spot) & then the special hand drawing on the pavement was a bit of a punctuation lesson! (i never know how to deal with apostrophes but written inside the outline is Jess' hand...nice one Jess!

yes *blush* a very late post on Finders Keepers (which was over a week ago!)
There's been some great posts about it here, here & here & the only thing i can really add is that i had the great pleasure of being next to Caro who made the most amazing (and labour intensive) cross-stitched jewellery - how beautiful is it? this is what is written about it on her website..

Caro Bartling's most recent jewellery-series 'Leni' is named after her two grandmothers and inspired by their thrift and heedfulness. They taught her to not only care for fellow beings but also for the things that surround us. All their belongings were handled with care, darned, mended and repaired if necessary. Admiring this appreciation and knowing that today we mostly use, destroy and replace things, Caro designed brooche-necklace and ring-bracelet combinations made of embroidered and “darned” silver.

i also got to meet the amazing Lexi!! yes the famous PMM herself! it was a special thing to meet someone I've only known online - sort of like meeting a celebrity cause I've had this one-sided relationship & I felt like i knew her...but not! i kinda wanted to give her big hug but kinda not appropriate when you meet someone for the first time huh? & i also had a great chat with Amy from Badskirt who was there twice! (it is the sort of market that's good to visit both days cause there's so much good stuff there:))
i reckon as far as markets go - this is a pretty good one, kind of like how the fed square market was before it went super-designy. People are really pleased to be shopping there - i saw heaps of folks that i recognised from the last one & they were STILL happy!

new lamp for nix..

i've been a little slack in the chrissy decorations department this year - too many things on!
so no tree for us - we'll attempt a little decorated 'thing' (mirror?) but to add just a little christmas cheer i made a festive lamp...out of a vase & fairy lights.
but all weekend i saw trees - hanging out of cars boots, on roof racks, outside grocers, being dragged indoors by happy families....do you have a tree or did you perhaps diy it like this clever cookie?

iMac rubbish

a house down the road is doing some renovations & this is what i saw this morning as i passed their skip..do you remember when these iMacs were the height of envy? late 90s, on the cusp of the internet revolution?
it was one of the early examples of technology-as-fashion...(hard to imagine that they were once separate huh?) but now - Oh the indignity! Face down in a skip!!?

i was all set for a bad mood until i saw this little guy..

I was picking cj up from work & I had found it hard to find a car spot. Eventually I found one at the bottom of the (very big) hill, I got out of the car in my higher-than-usual-heels (usually completely flat:)) & trudged up the hill to notice that just as I neared the top, a car that had been parked between the 2 prime spots, took off! (did i mention that we were running late & i forgot my phone?) Now after a long day I must confess I was a little crabby…& then I saw this little guy.
Does it say ‘plops’ or ‘flops’?
Either way it works for me.

a week or so ago cj & i visited some friends who had rented a house in Barwon Heads for the weekend. Alas i was so excited about the house that i forgot to take pictures:(. One guest had even towed their own 1960s caravan (like a big bubble-on-wheels!) & it looked so perfect sitting out the front that i thought it was part of the package!
but i did get this one piccie - how good is that wallpaper??

It's been a super-busy couple of weeks...phew! (i heard a man on the radio yesterday talking about how he's noticed people getting more relaxed & chilled out now that chrissy is on its way...where does he live??)
so i've been dying to update the blog but was lost behind a flurry of polish & packaging trying to get ready for Mag Sq markets and then Finders Keepers (which was this weekend)
I always find market displays a little tricky - much better with the small picture than the big one, so I tried to bring a bit of CWA into Malvern last week with a picnic theme complete with fake grass, trees, gingham bunting and baskets:) I also found some placemats in Vinnies the day before & glued some rings stands onto it which i think worked pretty well - a woman there gasped & said "my mother had palcemats just like that!" (they may have been her mother's cause i bought them in Hawthorn!)

Sydney here we come!

it's time to prepare for Finders Keepers!! do you think you can come along?
we're very excited about hopping on a sydney-bound plane this friday, we have our stall pozzie (if you are looking at the Bar then we are the furthest to the right as you can get, A33, a bit tucked away so please please come & say hello, i'm nervous that we'll be all alone!)
i'm especially looking forward to seeing the new Able & Game cards (i have my eye on 'pour vous' gift tags!), Only Midge bags (i bought one of these a few years ago & wore it to death, ready for a new one:)) and anything being sold by Made 590 cause i think they're ace!
